Covid-19 Protocol
Covid-19 Protocol
The COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak has disrupted and changed all of our lives. New routines and protocols will have to be put in place to protect you, our valued patient, your families and also our staff. We ask that you please adhere to the following protocols when visiting our practice.
- Patients will be seen on appointment only. Please contact us on 051-430 3982 for your appointment. This includes collection of spectacles and contact lenses as well as any repairs or adjustments that needs to be done to your spectacles.
- If you have an appointment, please do not bring additional people to the practice. We need to minimize the amount of people in the practice.
- Should a child, disabled person or visually impaired person be the patient (and not be able to see an optometrist alone), only one parent, guardian or caregiver will be allowed with the patient.
- Please do not enter the practice before your appointment starts. Again, we need to minimize the amount of people in the practice, and we need to disinfect as far as possible before the next patient can be seen.
- Should you feel ill, have a runny nose, a sore throat, a cough, a fever or have had contact with someone who is infected with the Covid-19 coronavirus, please reschedule your appointment.
- Please wear a mask when entering the practice at all times.
- Please use the available hand sanitizer when entering and leaving the practice.
- Please avoid any unnecessary touching of surfaces.
- Please practice social distancing at all times when possible.
- If you start developing symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 after you have visited the practice, please contact us as soon as possible (this is again to prevent spread of the virus and to protect our staff).
You can be sure that we will be doing our utmost best to make sure that you are safe
- Staff will be wearing PPE (masks, shields and or gloves).
- Protective shields will be installed on instrumentation where possible as well as on counters.
- Hand washing and sanitising will be conducted before, during and after all patients that are examined.
- All equipment, surfaces and frames will be disinfected before and after use.
- A list of everyone who visited the practice will be kept for each day.
NB! If you start developing symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 after you have visited the practices, please contact us as soon as possible so that the necessary steps can be followed to avoid any further spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
We trust that you understand how important the above protocols are and that you will take hands with us in fighting this COVID-19 coronavirus.
Should you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 051-430 3982.
